Today I want to share with you an off-line marketing tool you you can use to promote any of your businesses even your blog. And make money on the side that can make your advertising costs virtually zero. The publication I will discuss is called Coffee News.
What Is Coffee News?
Coffee News is a weekly publication with news to amuse and it’s distributed to your local community restaurants and hotels. This is where people who have money to buy what you sell will read Coffee News. The assumption is that, if people can afford a meal they can afford to pay for your goods or services.
- Then, it’s found that people who read before they stuff their tummies with food are more receptive to your promotions. It’s like a hungry lion; a hungry lion is aware but a lion after a meal tend to be a lazy lion.
- You can promote your business: Coffee News is a single A3 page with content on both the back and front and along the borders there are 32 business card size ads to promote your business or any other community business.
- When people read the newspaper they subconsciously see the ads even if they don’t read the ads. But the trick gets better. Because Coffee News is loaded with good news and a new edition is distributed every week your community gets exposed to your promotions over and over.
- You can save a bucket load of advertising money by publishing your own Coffee News. Let’s assume you use ten ads for your own business and sell the rest to local businesses: You need between six and ten sold ads to pay for your all your cost. The rest is a bonus. Therefore you have another 12 ads to sell and make a nice income. In Simon’s Town we sell an ad for R2800 for three months and R8000 for a year.
- You don’t have to write any content. The content is researched in the USA and Canada. It’s then sent all over the world to Coffee News owners. All you need to do is create the ads, and distribute the newspaper to your local restaurants.
How much does it cost to publish your own Coffee News?
Before we get there. If you can sell 22 ads then you’ll break even after 3 months. Then your advertising is free and you make an additional income.
How much it cost depends on where in the world you are. In South Africa a Coffee News area is selling for an once off fee of R25 000 and R2200 monthly royalty (cost exclude VAT). Cost to print is about R1 per copy and you need about a 1000 copies per week. I get my monthly copies printed in Pretoria at a nice printer and then dispatched to me in Simon’s Town for R170 for the lot.
