I cannot remember the company’s name that specialize in transfers reporting.
In Cape Town I use http://www.rppr.com. We also use myagent.co.za for other info.
Have you tried this:
http://www.property24.com/Property24/Reportshop/Default.aspx
I’ll check my records for the company that provides reports for South Africa.

Hi Jaco
Your first job is to identify your market. You cannot be the expert for every suburb or share title or flats or 3 million homes or entry level homes. You can decide on any of these sections of the market. I will check these markets out and see which I like. I will then say become and expert in share title and become the expert for that. I will invite these guys to join and share specific tips, legal advice and other with them.

You need to go for a community and define it as tight as you want it to be.

As soon as you have done it the writing gets easier. Your problem is that your scope (niche) may be to wide.

I get the deeds transactions for my area and then trend the average sales per month, the most expensive property sold and the time it takes to sell the property.

You need to start with a folder of all properties advertised. Record the asking price and then record the actual selling price. This will give you and idea of the discount before a property sells. You may not get all the info but a sample is good enough.
People will love you for this info.

This is the core of your info.

Then you need to add short articles on tips for the community.

How can they manage load sharing?
How do they check for termites?
Have they thought about solar panels.
Interview a builder and check average building cost.
Interview a panel beater and ask where the most accidents happens and what people can do.
Interview a gardener.
Interview a interior decorator.
Then go for experts on things to do in your area and interview them.
Make a list of ten things to do in your area over the weekend.
What do you like doing? Share it with the people.
I have a camera phone and take photos of all that move and doesn’t move and then create an article out of it.
Go to your local municipality and ask them what are the ten most common problems and there solutions.
Go to youtube and find videos like the one I got for Simon’s Town. http://simonstownrealty.info/2008/01/18/dinner-for-one-now-in-simons-town/

Please note: You don’t need to do all of these to be effective. MOST of the people who you make contact with will be via email.
Post as many articles on your blog as possible but take only one and send it out via email every week.

Have fun

Johan
P.S. Have you subscribed to my simonstownrealty.info newsletter to see what I do?

Hi Johan

When you started your blog…
What did you blog about ??
I am getting nervous about content.
I want to start inviting lots people to subscribe my free newsletter from next week.
But I am concerned about content as i have mentioned…

i know i will be able to do this…
i just need to start and then things will start flowing.

I dont know simons town folks but it seems to be a little town where people know one another.

Benoni is not like that as far as I know.
