When you start creating your own Blog (web site) you may quickly end up with a slow loading Blog. And most of the time it’s due to the amount of images or the size of individual images you load on to your blog. This is a problem; because people visiting your blog will not wait until your blog loads, therefore you’ll have less visitors to your blog.

How do you resize the images and photos for your blog?

Download the free InfraView and use this fine piece of software to resize your images before you upload your photos and images to your blog.

When you have download InfraView then watch this video at YouTube to see how a photo/image is resized.

You may also want to crop your photos or images before upload them to your blog then watch this video. This video assumes you know something about image sizes. Do not allow the technicalities to stop you. Watch it because it will give you a few ideas.

The learning curve to use NextGen effectively exists. But it's all worthwhile. Although I am no expert yet I was able to create a vary nice gallery for the real estate I sell.

This is what I did:

I created a gallery for each home for sale.

I created a page for each home for sale.

All these pages where sub pages of the one main for sale page.

And then I created a photo album from all the galleries.

Now, if you go to the main for sale page you'll see the album and when you click on an album your are taken to the sub pages with the galleries.

Neat! Well that's what I thought. And you can sell or brag with anything using NextGen Gallery. The plugin is installed on your iLocals.Info blog.

But before I brag let me get back to earth. Just when I thought I know a little bit about NextGen Gallery I came across this amazing use of NextGen Gallery to sell Real Estate.

All the tools and training material to use NextGen Gallery is available to anyone who has access to iLocals.Info or who want access to create on iLocals.Info.

the right link and study the plugin, what it

can do and what not.

All plugins uploaded are enhancements and

may or may not work for you. Some plugins

may even be in conflict with each other.

When one plugin does not work another

will do the job better.

Plugins slows your blog and the more

you activate the slower you blog can

become.

Be careful and give me the plugin name

and the plugin link when you have a

problem.

When you have a problem with a plugin

I use that info as above to contact the

developer of the plugin. He may or may

not get back to me. Please bear this

in mind.

As a last resort: Remember why you blog.

Are you impressing people with technology or

are you trying to build relationships?

This is no excuse for issues that do not

work but keep it in mind not to slow your

blog and not to keep you side tracked from

why you blog.

Not so long ago I got an email from one of the first bloggers that I trained. I know Lizelle but I don’t know her well. All I know is that she has a lot of passion. She want to succeed.

Lizelle had many issues; she did not know how to create an online presence. She had no clue and to be honest she was a pain during blog training. The poor girl could not remember her username and password. She was always a few paces behind.

Well Lizelle. Most people underestimate you. You and your passion. Your persistence and your attitude makes you a winner. Well done.

This is a letter I got from Lizelle:

As a business person you make contact with a potential client and they are not yet interested in your services. What do most of us do? We walk away.

Because we have read that for every no we are getting closer to the next yes.

You have paid a lot for marketing and advertising to get paying clients. But as soon as you have done business you have no way to easily communicate with them.

The paying clients name ends up on a piece of paper stuffed away in a drawer.

This may not be a general situation for all business people.

Some of you may have your own web site, some of you may have an email newsletter but I know that very few have both.

• Create your own personal web site or blog and add an online newsletter to your site.
• Add a newsletter subscription form to your site.
• Take your list of contacts and add them to your online newsletter database.
• Publish your newsletter on your site and let the website-newsletter software send it automatically to all your subscribers.
• Now your content is available for other people who have not yet subscribed to your newsletter. And if you do it well then people who search the Internet will find you.

If you create a subpage for each product you sell go to “write page” you will see a blue bar below the page called “page parent”. Click on the + sign on that bar and select the page (in this case Homes for Sale) that you want your new page to be under.

Get the sub page address and make a link to it from your main page.
In the visual editor, highlight the word(s) you want to use as the link. Click on the link icon in the toolbar (looks like linked chain links) and put the URL you want to link to in the “link URL” field and the click insert.

Now create a sub page for all items you sell and add the short story and one photo to your parent page.

Why would you want to create a blog from your phone?

• You may be a geek and just want to do it because it can be done.
• You may want to create a blog using only 140 characters because you don’t want to get involved with writing long articles.
• You have a thought to share and you want to do it now.

What is possible with this idea?

• Obviously you can create a blog from your twitter chats – tweets.
• If you already have a blog you can include your tweets in your blog.
• You can send people to your blog to subscribe to it and build relationships.
• You can use your twitter account to social network with people on twitter.

How do you create a blog from your phone or desktop application?

• If you don’t have a blog then go and create a free one at iLocals.Info because all the tools and more are there for you.
• Go and create a Twitter account and remember your username and password.
• I have included a plugin called Twitter Tools for you on iLocals.Info. You need to go and activate it. (If you have wordpress blog then download and install Twitter Tools). Read this on how to set Twitter Tools up.
• If you have read how to set up Twitter Tools you’ll know if Twitter Tools could connect to your account. You can set the following:
  1. Archive your Twitter tweets (downloaded every 15 minutes).

  2. Create a blog post from each of your tweets. If you want to create a blog only using tweets then this is the option I recommend. If you have an existing set this option to No.

  3. Create a daily digest post of your tweets. If you include the idea into your exciting then choose this option and not the one above. Set it as yes.

  4. Create a tweet on Twitter whenever you post in your blog, with a link to the blog post. If you have an existing blog choose this option. Set it as yes. If you have a blog based only on tweets set this to No.

  5. You need to create a category for your tweets. And then set your tweet category within your Tweet Tools setup. This will create the twitter blog post with the category you choose.

  6. Add the twitter tools side bar widget if you want.

Now you can start tweeting by going to your twitter account or from your Twitter Tools side bar widget.

How do you activate your phone to send Tweets?

• Go to Fring and create an account. This process will show you if your phone can be used using Fring. Download the software on your phone and activate Fring.
• You’ll notice that Fring allows you to make free calls to Skype, Google Talk and other.
• Go back to your Twitter account and add your phone and/or the instant messenger (IM) you use (like Google Talk).
• Twitter will tell you what to do to activate your phone or instant messenger.

Now you’ll be able to blog from your phone but you’ll pay standard rates for the SMS. There’s a better way; if you have Google Talk or the other supported IM’s on Fring you can send your Tweets from your phone using Fring. Neat! You can also Twitter from this free Desktop Application called Twhirl.

I am using all these tools to add tweets to my blog and I have created a blog where I only use Twitter Tweets.

By The Way: I have not discussed how I use Asides to change the look and feel of blog tweets on my normal blog. I recommend that you use the technique if you have a normal blog.

Let me start by saying that it’s raining out there. No, it’s pouring. It’s raining with potential buyers and sellers. But the question; are you collecting them in a reservoir, the reservoir where you can keep them and cultivate them until they are ready to do business with you? Do you have the tools to build such a dam?

This article will show you three of the many techniques used by new real estate agents who are building easy and simple relationship dams. These building tools are virtually free.

It will mean a different approach.

Ok. Let’s get to the practicalities of getting more water in our real estate relationship dams:

As a real estate agent I decided to keep my ear to the ground. I wanted to know about all the controversial and not so controversial news in my catchment area. Therefore I joined the local civic association board. Here I give my help and expertise and as soon as an opportunity arises I try to turn it into a water collection exercise.

This is what happened at the last meeting: The ward councilor asked the Civic Exec member to each send a list of 5 simple community issues that we want resolved. I volunteered to collate the issues. Obviously

Then I took the summarized list (21 issues), got permission, and compiled a poll on my SimonsTown community blog. This poll allowed me to share relevant information and to get the community involved. In other words I am cultivating relationships in my dam. That’s not all. Regular readers of my blog are sending more water to my dam….Their friends. And slowly but surely it’s pouring with referrals. And more and more people see me as the caring expert.

The next dam-building-tool was a letter to the local community press. I took the poll results to-date and decided to share it with residents who have not yet been directed to the rivers flowing into my dam. This letter invites residents to add their vote. (Results from this will be shared with you when the letter appears in the newspapers).

To summarise:

• The internet (blog) allows real estate agents to build relationship dams where they can cultivate long term relationships.
• Join your community associations and become the center point for local news.
• Add a poll on relevant and contentious issues to your blog.
• Use the local media and send them articles and poll results with the intention to direct the flow to your dam.

Slowly but surely traditional real estate agents will realize that a new breed of real estate agents is dominating the local relationship battles out there where it’s tough.

Public Pole identifies Major issues in Simon’s Town

Some Simon’s Town residents have added their voice to a poll and identified cell phone coverage as the major issue they want to be addressed by the local ward councilor, Nicki Holderness.

The poll was initiated after a request by our ward councilor to the Simon’s Town Civic Association Exec. They were asked to identify a list of issues she should address.
From this list a public poll was created and the following issues were ranked as the most important by Simon’s Town residents:

1) Improve the cell phone & 3G coverage.

2) Metrorail to upgrade stations, improve travel by train options, manage environment.

3) Disa Valley Settlement and the impact of these 7000 people on Simon’s Town.

4) Uncontrolled development & lack of building inspectors.

5) Detection & monitoring system for early fire detection.

6) Fire: Owners accountable for removal of aliens and other causes of fires.

According to Johan Horak the creator of the poll, “In order to get an objective ranking of the Simon’s Town issues, residents are asked to go and vote on these issues. In addition; if you feel that the list doesn’t address your problems feel free to add your issue”.
