How To Get More Traffic Using Simple Forum
Apr 12th, 2008 by Johan
To continue from my post on why should you have a community forum I want share with you an interesting observation from my blog traffic logs. I am using the Simple Forum plugin (that’s one of the many plugins installed for you on my Free Blog Platform).
Before I tell you how Simple Forum brings me more traffic I need to tell share with you one of the options available in Simple Forum.
When you create a post and you activated the forum you’ll see at the bottom of Write Post the following:
- When you select this option it allows you to create a forum post from a blog post.
- You click on the option to Create A Forum Topic.
- Click on the drop down menu and select the relevant Forum.
- As soon as you publish the post a small snippet appears on the forum as well.
The same can be done for a forum post you create. Meaning that an automatic blog post is created when you create a forum post. Have a look at this graphic when you create a forum post.
After you created a forum post you can decide to pin this topic and it will create a blog post.
Now this is nice. But it get’s better:
Checking my traffic logs I noted that I am getting a lot more traffic from the blog-created-forum post than from the actual blog post. Therefore I will now use the option to create a forum post from my blog post more often.
