Why should I blog at iLocals?

Hi Rob
Thanks for completing the survey. You said:
I already have using your electronic newsletter marketing advice: I’m tinkering around and thinking of using a website hosting service for the above. Alternatively, an off-line facility with my own website using FTP protocol (I’ve done it before, the site was OK but the concept targeted the wrong market). Also, see my previous email to you!
You should do what you believe is right for you.
If you need blogging support and advice you can go here [some are locked for premium bloggers].
By The Way: I have just added an ability for premium bloggers to add a forum to their blog. It’s all part of the open source evolution.
Have fun

Hi Rob
Thanks for the email. I must admit that I did not see your email dated 26 Dec. I am sorry.
It probably ended up in a spam folder for some or other reason.
Regarding your question: If you have permission to email your neigbhourhood then you should not have an issue. If you email them asking for something they will ask, “What’s in it for me?”
Therefore you need to give and you need to give many times before they will return a favour. It’s all explained at the Kiss on the First Date
You need to use off-line techniques and say youtube to make people aware of your blog. One idea is to use press releases. Many of these tips are applicable to any blog platform you may use but they are exclusive to subscribers to of HelpMeToBlog.Com.
My other “pet hate” issue is when you have a blog but no email newsletter where people can subscribe to it. That’s a waste of time. Because the only way people will come and read what you do is when they come back to your site. They will not do it.
You may want to share more with me regarding your comment: but I found that their support and features didn’t match Blog.com, although, I must admit there were some features like different pages for articles that I preferred. But I don’t know, maybe it’s just my lack of technical know-how. I’ll work with what I’ve got at the moment and see how it goes – perhaps you could take a look and give me your opinion?
I have used blogger in the past and am still using it for my mobile blog but the free iLocals.Info site is powered by wordpress.com.
It is the largest blogging site in the world and it’s independent. What makes it so powerful is the open sources nature of the blog software. Their are many 10 000’s of people creating automation plugins and tools for these blogs.
One of the issues you mention is the static pages. This where you add for example your contact me page. See this page and you’ll also find another example of a plugin available on your ilocals.info blog where you can add a form for people to contact you instead of an email address that gets harvested by spam bots and then you’ll get many spam emails. This will stop it.
With me, the so called expert, I find these new tools and add them to iLocals.Info and I support it with additional articles and webinars for bloggers who subscribe through HelpMeToBlog.Com. Every week we have such a blog coaching webinar. And we are having one at 0900 for these bloggers. You sit behind your computer and we talk while you watch what I do on your blog or my blog or any other blog.
You can go and have a look under your
iLocals.Info Dashboard> Plugins for a long list of plugins you can activate. Some you’ll not even see as I have activated them for all sites.
You can go and have a look at these sites; some of the sites I support through helpmetoblog.com
Have fun
