The Proof of the Pudding is in the Eating

Yesterday my Simon’s Town Community newsletter was send out and this morning I got a very nice email from a person who gave me permission to educated, train and sometimes amuse her. This is proof of what I try to share with all the real estate agents:

Hi There – Many thanks for your most interesting news, which I always enjoy and please don’t stop sending it, although we have sold our house and moved into “Noordhoek Manor”. Unfortunately, ill health and a knee replacement forced us, so it was a very quick decision. Lovely folk from Durban have bought our house – M and N K and will live there 6 months of the year. Do meet them, they are super people. Again many thanks for your interesting and informative news. Sorry we couldn’t give you our house to sell, but no Agents were involved! Regards M & O
It’s when I get emails like this that I know this is the new way to market ourselves as real estate agents. Because our listing area gave us the permission to educate them. They were people I did not know. Today they are my friends and tomorrow they do business with a friend.
Note: I did not get the home to sell. But does it matter in the long run? Thy gave me the new owners name and want me to meet them. It’s got nothing to do with selling it’s all about an ability to create trusting relationships and the sale will be the result and not the objective.
